heritage & Character

A Character House is a house built before 1940. A Heritage House is also built before 1940, but is a house that has a particular design, or is in a particular location, or is built out of materials that have historic or cultural significance. 

Heritage Houses may have State or Local heritage significance. I maintain that houses built before 1940 were constructed out of inferior but locally acquired materials, What gives them the name "Character" was the way quality craftsmen constructed them.
